DW: The War Doctor: Infernal Devices: Neverwhere

Hey Guys,

welcome to the last chapter of the second Box ‘Infernal Devices‘ – Neverwhere. The second box thematics the question if the Doctor is still the Doctor. Ollistra is calling him this and also believe he does excatly what the Doctor would do. She manipulated him to do what she wants.

What the Doctor does

I believe the same things as Ollistra. He is still the Doctor and doing the same decisions than everyone else. The Doctor is trying to save everyone and is in away naive. Every Doctor is different. Every Doctor as his own way. The first doesn’t care about people. He doesn’t want to help or be nice. He just want to see new things.
The second would without a second thought earse the cyberman from existince, when the third just believes that their is always a other way. You can make this list as long as Doctors are their. For me the War Doctor is nothing to be ashamed of or not the Doctor. He is still trying to save people. He is still doing what he thinks is right. He is a fighter but not a soldier. He is not following any orders. He always makes his own way.
This is actually what i think is the most important thing to the Doctor. The one think that never change. The Doctor what ever he believed in, if he is bad or good. No matter if he is naive or manipulitave. The Doctor is always going his own way. He never let anyone else think for him. He thinks for himself. He doesn’t follow orders, he just follows his own believes. He always make his own way.

Living Hell

This time the weapon Ollistra is after is even more cruel than all the others and very simular to the other weapons. They created a place that can overcame everything. When you die you, you came back to live. You feel the pain. The Daleks and Time Lords fighting and nobody can win. They fight an endless battle. So the technology and the people himself is developing to make the most damage. It is a horrible version of horrible life without hope.

The story is not bad and like the whole box the story don’t get me. I will get the third of the war doctor. But it seems like just the first box got me this excited.

DW: The War Doctor – Infernal Devices: A Thing Of Guile

Hey Guys,

yeah i know that i need a really long time to actually listen to the second part of The War Doctor – Infernal Devices namend A Thing Of Guile. I really liked the first box of The War Doctor – Only The Monstrous. The second box is not bad but something is missing. I really don’t know what it is. The Doctor is the Doctor and the stories are really good…
This story is playing after the ‘Legion of the Lost‘ and this time the Doctor is as a prisoner in mission with Ollistra and the other the Doctor get to know in the adventure before.

War efforts

The stories are all very simular. The time lords find a weapon and try to use it in the war. They found a weapon and the Doctor should find out how it works. But at the same time they find a Dalek projekt. Like the Time Lords the Daleks are trying to find a way/ a weapon to win the war. It is really hard to see the differents between the Daleks and the Time Lords in these stories. The War is making everyone the bad and a victim of the war.
Which is really interessting to see. What does the war make of the people. Also the double standards that never change. The Time Lord are shocked at the unhuman experiments but they are not better. Is the only thing that counts that you win the war or does it matter how you win the war? Is it worth to lose everything that makes you human?

I really love the dark athmosphere and deep question about war and humanity. About losing yourself and be forced to make decision nobody want to make. It is good stuff. But maybe the problem is that it is the same in all the adventures. I am not big fan of War Movies and this shows me that war audio plays are not mine either. But it is way to good to not get the third box… i think.

DW: The War Doctor – Infernal Devices: Legion of the Lost

Hey Guys,

here i am a little late but better than never with the second Box of ‘The War Doctor’ and the first adventure ‘Legion of the Lost’. It plays after Box One and he is like always travling alone. Of course it doesn’t stay that way. This adventure he meets Collis. She is on a mission and is the last one alive.

Time Lords are better hands?

Collis and her team had the mission to get a weapon that is really dangerous. It earses people and things completely from existince. Of course the time lords want them but the Doctor doesn’t want it in the hands of the time lords. He is out to destroying it and Collis is dying.
This is were the story really begins. Because the time lords work on a new war advantage. They bring the warriors back from the death so they can die again in the war.

Cost of a war

Is it alright to win a war at all cost? How far can we go? Does we have a right to do everything? This is what are not just the questions in this story. This are the questions in the whole story of the war doctor. It is about war crimes, about sacrifices and moral. Even this Doctor has morals. He isn’t one to allow such things. He believes that their is a differnt cost to bringing someone back to live.
Of course he is right.
